Jewish Creativity Salon with Oscar winning short West Bank Story
When: Tuesday July 10th 7:30 PM Where: Private address in Santa Monica
We are delighted to have long time Center composer Yuval Ron show the Oscar winning short he scored West Bank Story. West Bank Story, written and directed by Ari Sandel as his final thesis project at USC, is a musical comedy set in the fast-paced, fast-food world of competing falafel stands in the West Bank. David, an Israeli soldier, falls in love with the beautiful Palestinian cashier, Fatime, despite the animosity between their families' dueling restaurants. Can the couple's love withstand a 2000 year old conflict and their families' desire to control the future of the chic pea in the Middle East?
Yuval is a world-music artist, composer and producer who has composed internationally for film TV, dance and theater. He will present the film and discuss his work on it and his artistic and Jewish journey. For more information see Yuval Ron's bio or go to the ongoing programs section.
