Visual and Audio Arts Projects
Visual and Audio Arts are ways to share Jewish arts, culture, and media across time and space. Unlike the Performing Arts, JCI Visual and Audio Arts projects can be widely shared across global and mass audiences, through wide distribution channels, to be enjoyed by audiences even sometimes in their own homes, on their own time. Here, we showcase dynamic arts, culture, and media initiatives spanning visual arts like painting and photography, alongside modern broadcast media, multimedia initiatives, and immersive podcasts. These projects offer powerful, tangible reflections of heritage, modern identity, and storytelling. Explore the multimedia work that actively redefines cultural expression today.

Archiving 45 Years of Jewish Photography

Acclaimed photographer Bill Aron's work documenting Jewish communities around the world has been exhibited in some of the world's most prestigious museums, including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, the Jewish Museum in New York, the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Israel Museum in Jerusalem. Aron is now organizing and digitizing his extensive archive of negatives, spanning more than five decades, in preparation for its donation to the American Jewish Historical Society in New York.
Art of Avner Moriah
Born in Jerusalem, Avner Moriah is an active artist and prolific painter for nearly five decades. Most recent accomplishment is a monumental 15-year project to illuminate the complete Pentateuch. This work has been acquired by the world’s leading museums and libraries, among them the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Vatican, The Library of Congress, Harvard University, Yale University, UCLA, and the Jewish Theological Seminary Library.
Birchot HaShachar
An original music project that reimagines Judaism's traditional morning blessings through contemporary Jewish music. Saul Kaye's eleventh original release and nineteenth album as a producer, bringing together original compositions inspired by the liturgy with the goal of helping people experience these ancient prayers as living, meaningful spiritual practice.
Chanukah Song Revival
Sixth full length studio album by Elana Jagoda, this collection celebrates Jewish tradition, featuring beloved classic Chanukah songs along with new, singable hits. Accompanying music videos tell the story of Chanukah through creative lyrics and visuals, igniting a musical legacy that will uplift, inspire, and become part of the Jewish story for generations to come.
Choosing to Be Chosen
Kylie Ora Lobell and her husband Daniel Lobell share their own proudly Jewish stories and showcase those of others. Kylie has recently published a memoir, and also has a YouTube and podcast called "Choosing to be Chosen" dedicated to the stories of converts. Daniel Lobell has a stand up comedy show and podcast. Their goal is to target diverse Jewish audiences of all ages, and across a variety of social media platforms.
Joan Roth Legacy Project
Archives the work of photographer Joan Roth, an internationally acclaimed photographer, photojournalist, ethnographer, and portraitist from the 1970's through today. Most well known for her work pioneering the documentation of diverse lives of Jewish women around the world and making Jewish women's history visible, the archive elevates the visibility of Jewish women and the women's movement through the medium of photography, film and storytelling.
Jonah Platt Advocacy
Being Jewish with Jonah Platt offers inclusive, insightful conversations with remarkable guests—an inspiring antidote to today’s polarized discourse. Through powerful personal stories and extraordinary conversations, each episode celebrates Jewish life and invites us to engage with it more deeply—sparking connection to ourselves, one another, and the values we all share.
Notes from Daughters
BEST FOOT FORWARD by Marina Heintze
A group art exhibition exploring the relationship between fathers and daughters and how it shapes female identity, self-perception, sexuality, belonging. Asks, what happens when daughters step out from the shadow of their fathers?
Podcast: “To Be Continued… Reflections on Growing Up with Holocaust Survivors”
Helps its listeners understand that the experiences of second (2G) and third (3G) generation descendants of Holocaust survivors are crucial for understanding the full impact of the Holocaust, for educating future generations, and for combatting antisemitism and Holocaust denial.
The Hostage Tag Project
Partnering with UJA-Federation New York on a sculpture made from the hostage tags and ribbons worn to remind the world of the hostages in Gaza. Sculpture design by Dede Bandaid and Nitzan Mintz, the artists behind the global "Kidnapped from Israel" poster campaign.
